A loin loom weaver at "Sanajing Sana Thambal"

Sound of melody weaving

Heard the sound beautifully melodious — tad- tad tad- tad

Spindles in fingertips eye, inherent legacy in mind,

It weaves not for money, but for what it finds.

It’s not a profession, but it still tries as genetic inheritance

Culture…. It is a culture, a culture of Manipuri beauty

Each texture keeps Manipur alive.

Free time, it works, the loom sings low,

Truth comes about when it thinks truth slow.

Every knot, every colour, every design it chooses

As a Manipuri, I’m proud that we never lose

(The poem depicts Manipur’s ladies, whose hands weave cultural heritage into every thread of the loom)
