Manipur Technical University Conducts One-Day Cleanliness and Plantation Programme at Kwarok Maring Village

Manipur Technical University (MTU), through the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering, in collaboration with NSS Unit-1 and NSS Unit-2, successfully conducted a One-Day Cleanliness and Plantation Programme at Kwarok Maring Village, Yairipok on 20th March, 2026, a press release said.

The programme was organised as a part of the university’s commitment to social responsibility, environmental awareness, and community engagement, the release added.

It further said, faculty members, students, and NSS volunteers actively participated in the initiative, carrying out cleanliness activities and plantation of saplings in and around the village. The programme aimed to promote the importance of maintaining cleanliness, protecting the environment, and encouraging community participation in sustainable development activities.

The active involvement of the volunteers and participants reflected a strong spirit of service, teamwork, and environmental responsibility. During the programme, the team undertook cleaning of selected areas of the village and planted saplings to contribute towards a greener and healthier environment, it added.

The initiative also helped in creating awareness among the local residents regarding hygiene, sanitation, and the need for environmental conservation. Govt.

The university expresses its sincere gratitude to the people of Kwarok Maring Village, Yairipok for their warm cooperation and support in making the programme successful, it said.

Manipur Technical University also appreciates the dedicated efforts of the organising departments, NSS Units, faculty members, student volunteers, and all participants who contributed to the success of the event, it further said.
