Congratulations to you Sir. You are victorious, Nagas of Nagaland whom you represent are victorious. Bright picture, nationalist picture, patriotic picture of Nagas have shadowed the terrorist image, anti-national image of Nagas propagated by hostiles and sworn enemy of you – Th. Muivah stands defeated. NSCN-IM under Th. Muivah is bound to touch its bottom. His Hebron Camp stands deserted. Who would like to die for nothing?
Jamir ji ! Your booklet – Bedrock of Naga Society published in June 2000 has come true word by word and page by page. The ‘VISION’ you gave to Nagas during those days of crisis and chaos, are remembered and recollected. The awakened section of Nagas are carrying in their pockets, reading and re-reading your that 18 page booklet – Bedrock of Naga Society. This booklet punctured the balloon of conspiracy hatched by NSCN-IM. I am fully aware of the incidents how your body was riddled with bullets fired by Muivah’s militants in Nagaland House New Delhi, how fourteen powerful bombs fitted with timer devices were exploded on your convoy between Piphema and Medziphema (Ghaspani) on NH2, how your convoy was ambushed near Changki and how you were attacked in Kohima wherein your wife received a bullet in her thigh.
Almighty God saved your life in all the four fatal ambushes masterminded by ‘Great Muivah’. Bharatmata protected her one of the most dearest sons – Sanayangba Chubatoshi Jamir. Bharatmata loves you Jamir ji like her other sons – Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Jhansi ki Rani Lakshmibai, Rani Gaidinliu, Haipou Jadonang, Khonoma Warriors of 1879, 48 martyred Chakhesang youths of Thevupisumi, Theyichuthie Sakhrie of Khonoma (Founder Secretary of NNC), Dr. Imkongliba Ao and many more. Sir, you deserved these honors and rewards long before for your patriotic deeds. Unfortunately, Delhi is quite late in recognizing and realizing that you are a ‘Patriot-par-Excellence’. Anyway, better late than never.
At last, Padma Bhushan has come to you at the age of ninety. With the grace and blessings of Bharatmata, you will cross century, Sir. ‘Bharatratna’ award will also come to you very soon during your life time. This is my prediction. Our beloved Prime Minister Modiji, beloved Home Minister Amit Shah ji accompanied with their patriotic team of whole Cabinet knows you and other present and past Naga political leaders, underground leaders and their hidden and open deeds. It is impossible today to play hide and seek game. Nagas of Nagaland including Tangkhuls of Manipur want a permanent solution because insurgency and terrorism is greatest hurdle to development. Naga youths of today know very well that insurgency coupled with terrorism have become fabulous business to insurgent leaders patronized in Kohima and Delhi both.
Jamir Sir! you have risked your life and property through out. And Padma Bhushan Award to you is our nation’s recognition to enlightenment to Nagas brought over by you. But still more is to be done for bringing permanent solution. Because Th. Muivah appears to have decided to hand over the legacy of terrorism even after his death. Knowing fully well that Yehjabo (separate constitution) and separate flag will never come Muivah is demanding it. His intention is unholy and malafide. Nagas particularly youths should remember – Time and tide wait for none. Delhi is ready but you are not echoing, you are not reciprocating. You are still in slumber. When golden opportunity for permanent solution will get over, you will have to rub your palm, nothing else. People of neighbouring states will laugh at you. Look at ever fast developments in Assam, Manipur, Arunachal and even Mizoram. Compare it with those in your state called Nagaland – the hub of rapid race of rampant corruption. Learn lessons from life of Great Naga leader of national fame – Lok Shree, Padma Shree and Padma Bhushan Dr. SC Jamir.
